    Trilby  Crewes  (nee Bowden)

Trilby qualified as a BHSAI 28 years ago (ouch!) While having been brought up on the Isle of Skye with eight horses of different shapes, sizes and abilities. Six of whom were broken in by Trilby before going to do her AI training at the age of sixteen at Busby Equestrian Centre, Glasgow with Mr Stewart Christie.

Concentrating initially on show jumping then moving to eventing about twenty years ago.

Now with top class facilities available, children more or less independent (are they ever?!?!) Trilby has time and commitment to offer to others, with a view too helping them achieve their ambitions and dreams.

While still actively eventing Trilby has hands-on knowledge of up-to-date changes within the sphere of British eventing. For example, the increased technicality of all three disciplines within the sport. This means that horses and riders have to realize a much greater all round education to be able to cope with these changes.

    6th June 2010

Welcome to yet another year at TB Equestrian. Our training facilities are moving forward bit by bit. Rome wasn't built in a day!  Due to more established employees, I am able to spend more time at ye olde computer so should be able to have more consistant updates coming forward. Our full set of show jumps have had a face-lift over the winter. We also have some training ditches and a bank.  Ideal for helping real novices get over their phobias of holes in the ground!  Our big round schooling pen has had full drainage put in, with a new surface and kicking boards.

I am introducing some training workshops. The format being a 5 day a week 10am session..here at Smiths Farm. Mon,Tues, Wed, Fri and Sat . Saturdays will not be set in stone as we will have to work around the competitions. The cost of these sessions will be £20 per head. Clients will be expected to book in beforehand but the evening before is adequate notice as the training will go ahead with in house staff and clients. I will be available to assess problems by watching as the riders get on with their normal schooling regimes. I will then pull each individual in to discuss specific requirements. They can then put any advice into action as they work the horses again. These sessions will incorporate flatwork and jumping in any format that is required. The  jumping will need to be towards the end of the sesions and be more on a one to one basis. If there is a requirement for  course riding  then I may gear specific days for solely jumping and the same for dressage riding in the arena. If  the clients or their horses have a deep seated problem, then it may be suggested that they have some individual sessions to get on track.. The normal private session fee is £40.

    WORKSHOPS 2011.

<> TB Equestrian training has already shown some positive feedback with some good results and progress from clients and horses.
Becky has excelled herself with Charlie, proving that all the hard grind through the winter has its' rewards.Gaining three placings in the last three outings.
Rosie Malcolm has also been in the ribbons with Golden Enigma. Both Rosie and Becky are competing in BE 100 Plus classes.
Lizzie Jennings with Laura May has, to her own surprise, started the season at BE 100 level completing in fine form at  Larkhill and Bicton.
Emma Harris has started her Under 21 Challenge. Having competed  at the top end of the indoor show jumping circuit with her two horses Regal Rock Chardonnay and Certo. with many placings. Certo is new to Eventing and has completed several BE 100s admirably. Chardo rising to the challenge of the Intermediate classes having several good placings in the Intermediate Novice classes.Emma also attended some of the BE  South West training sessions.
Harry Greaves put in some hard work over the winter to help Talihli Sundancer move into BE 100 classes. Harry attended some of the BE training sessions which were run with Darrell Scaiffe in Cornwall.

Several riding clubs have shown an interest in our training and these sessions have already begun.

    October 2011.

Becky Littleton finished the season in spectacular fashion, coming 7th in her first ever CIC*, held at Aldon with her main horse Charming Opposition. She also competed in the 3 Day BE 100 classs with Sue Potter's young horse Hunky Dory. Their dressage score was not quite in the competitive circle but they finished with no time penalties in all of the endurance phases, with a blistering round across the country. Finishing up with just one fence down in the final show jumping phase.
Georgie Dudden also did very well, completing her first CIC* with her ride, Primore Colleen.
Both girls have worked hard putting their training to good use.
